Broekman is expanding warehousing capacity on the Maasvlakte
Broekman Logistics is expanding its warehousing capacity on the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam by 34,000 m2 which brings the total capacity to more than 250,000 m2, the Company said in a press release.
The logistics service provider in the field of Shipping and Forwarding, Warehousing and Distribution and Break Bulk Terminals has entered into an agreement thereto with Dudok Logistics Real Estate.
In addition to the rental of 22,000 m2 of warehouse space, Dudok is building a built-to-suit warehouse of 12,500 m2 for Broekman. The new, modern warehouse will be equipped with an LP-CO2 extinguishing system and is suitable for the storage of dangerous goods. With the expansion at the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam, Broekman Logistics raises its total warehousing capacity in the Netherlands to 400,000 pallets places. A third thereof is equipped for the storage of dangerous goods (ADR). This expansion makes Broekman Logistics the market leader in the area of ADR storage.
The main reason for the expansion of the warehouse capacity is the growing number of Broekman customers who are looking for a warehousing solution in the Rotterdam port area. "We have noted that our current customers are increasingly asking us for so-called value-added logistics," said Jacques Kleinkramer, Managing Director of Warehousing & Distribution of Broekman Logistics.
