Throughput of Kavkaz up 41.3% to 30.8 mln t in 2015
In January-December 2015, port Kavkaz handled 30,828,000 t of cargo (+41.3%, year-on-year), Harbour Master of port Kavkaz Yevgeny Tuzinkevich told IAA PortNews.
Off-harbour transshipment complex handled 17,354,000 t (-1.9%, year-on-year).
Transshipment of oil products – up 5.6% to 12,533,000 t, grain – up 31% to 4,264,000 t, sulphur and mineral fertilizers – down 40.4% to 2,561,000 t, LPG – down 2.4 times to 180,000 t.
Exports from port Kavkaz grew 2.9 times to 3,277,000 t, imports fell by 39.4% to 247,000 t, transshipment of coastal trade cargo surged 5.2 times to 9,434,000 t.
Bunker sales at the port dropped by 32.4% to 524,100 t.
Passenger turnover jumped by 74.8% to 4,829,370 passengers.
The number of calls increased by 40.4% to 21,205 calls.
Port of Kavkaz is situated between the Azov and the Russian Black Sea coast. The depth of 4.5 meters allows for handling river boats and seagoing ships (off the harbour). The port’s facilities are intended for handling bulked cargoes (mineral fertilizers, concentrates of various ores, grain) as well as general, timber, and containerized goods. In 2014, the port handled 10.17 mln t of cargo.
