Reconstructed rain runoff treatment system put into operation at Vyborg Shipyard
Works on reconstruction of rain run-off treatment facilities at Vyborg Shipyard (a corporate member of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) were completed December 28, 2015, the shipyard’s press center says. The treated sewage water will run into the city water disposal system. According to the Federal law from December 12, 2011 No. 416-FZ «On water supply and disposal» the Shipyard provides sewage water treatment before disposal into centralized water disposal system using treatment facilities.
The runoff water treatment process includes the following main equipment: rain runoff pump station, sludge drying unit, storage facility (storage tank), filter plant. The filter is filled with a high-quality innovative sorbent which will be used as the filtering agent for runoff water treatment from mineral oil, copper, lead, iron, nickel and other heavy metals. Using of this sorbent will enable to avoid environmental pollutions and consequently penalties. The sorbent has been earlier tested at the Shipyard and proved its efficiency. In realization of this reconstruction project VSY invested 9,6 million roubles.
