Port of Temryuk throughput rose 25% to 2.65 million tonnes in 2015
Cargo traffic at Krasnodar region, Russia Port of Temryuk in January-December 2015 jumped by 25% year-on-year to 2,658,000 tonnes, the Port Captain Valery Malyar told a regional correspondent of IAA PortNews.
According to the harbourmaster coal shipments in the reporting period increased by 15.4% to 832,600 tonnes, export of grain and liquid chemicals soared by 42.7% (372,200 tonnes) and 80.7% (142,500 tonnes), accordingly. Handling of lumber grew by 3.2 times to 123,400 tonnes, of metal – by 11.2 times to 90,400 tonnes. At the same time, shipments of LPG decreased by 30.8% to 137,000 tonnes.
By the year-end results exports increased by 21.9% (1,8 million tonnes), coastal traffic - by 46.5% to 743,300 tonnes, while imports volume slumped by 37.2% to 58,600 tonnes.
There were 1134 ship calls at the port or 22% more than in 2014.
Bunkering operations at the seaport totaled 13,400 tonnes (-20.8% y-o-y).
Valery Malyar pointed out that hard work of the Harbourmaster services to ensure safety of navigation, reduce accidents to attract domestic and foreign investors to the port, contributed to the annual throughput growth.
Port of Temryuk is located on the Taman seashore of the Azov Sea. The port has 12 berths (total length of 1,580 lm) are for handling general cargoes, round timber, lumber, food products, metals and oversized cargoes. The terminals projected capacity is 6,8 million tonnes. The Port of Temryuk can accommodate 4.6-meter draft vessels.
