Vympel Shipyard lays keel of HSV Nikolay Skosyrev for Russia's Defense Ministry (photo release)
Vympel Shipyard on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2015 held a keel-laying ceremony for Hydrographic Survey Vessel of Project 19910 ordered for the Russian Defense Ministry's Navigation and Oceanography Dept., the shipbuilder said in a press release.
The 19910-design cutter will be named "Nicholas Skosyrev" and is scheduled for completion and delivery by November 25, 2019. The ship will enter service with the Northern Fleet's hydrographic service and will be homeported in Arkhangelsk.
The small hydrographic vessel / buoy tender of Project 19910 was designed for surveys and installation of navaids in the coastal areas, including installation / removal of buoys / beacons of all types; maintenance (inspection, recharge and repair) of onshore and floating Aids to Navigation (A2N); some hydrographic surveys (within her capabilities); transport of various cargoes to supply shore based ATONs and hydrographic stations on unequipped coast.
Vessel particulars: displacement overall - 1270 tonnes, length overall - 59 m, beam - 11, 4 m, draft - 3,18 m, speed - 12.5 knots, cruising range - 3,500 miles, endurance - 25 days, crew / accommodations - 17 / 22.
