RS holds a seminar during Marintec China 2015
In early December, the seminar ‘Opportunities and Prospects for Cooperation between the Russian and Chinese Companies of Maritime Industry’ was held within the largest Asian Maritime Forum Marintec China 2015 by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping together with the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Shanghai, RS says.
The event programme contained over 20 reports and presentations on the relevant issues of modern shipbuilding and shipping covering the widest range of matters, such as: organization of activity financing, legal protection and insurance coverage, interaction of the Russian design bureaus and Chinese shipyards, organization of manufacture and delivery procedure of materials and products from the Chinese manufacturers, quality control at the PRC enterprises.
The issues related to the capabilities of the Chinese enterprises, ways of improvement of the communication, as well as interaction within the multilateral relations in partnership with RS were of the Seminar participants’ particular interest.
In the welcome speech at the event opening, Alexey Evsikov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Shangai noted that China is today one of the leaders of the world maritime industry. PRC industrial enterprises actively augment their technological potential and upgrade production quality thus giving impetus to development of the Russian-Chinese economic cooperation.
Over one hundred company executives from both countries took part in the Seminar. PRC maritime industry was represented by such world leaders as Nanjing Iron&Steel, CIMC RAFFLES, Hudong-Zhonghua shipbuilding, Weichai Power, Prysmian Group. The Russian participants were also represented by the leading enterprises of the industry: Baltic Shipyard, Krylov State Research Centre, Design Bureau for Shipping Vympel, Zvezdochka Shiprepair Centre as well as the Far East shipping companies and companies supplying ship equipment and systems.
Summing up the seminar results, Pyotr Vanyukov, Director of the RS Branch Office in China, said: “Nowadays a number of shipbuilding projects involving the Russian investments are being implemented in PRC, and there is a certain interest in the Russian market from Chinese enterprises. Getting in direct contacts to a large extent promotes the business efficiency. Due to the above, of the utmost importance are professional meetings, where top managers and specialists of maritime industry receive first-hand information. In September 2015, the Register arranged a visit of a representative delegation of leading Chinese maritime enterprises to the major Russian industry exhibition NEVA and received positive feedback from the partners. The seminar at Marintec China 2015 is of great success as the Russian shipbuilders established close relations with their Chinese colleagues. The RS Branch Office in China is the largest one located outside the Russian Federation and we are certainly interested in strengthening and development of the Russian-Chinese relationships. According to our experience in organising such events, their format has already demonstrated it’s efficiency and we, of course, are intended to keep on this way”.
