More than 50 Caspian Flotilla ships begin first course task performance
The ships of the Caspian Flotilla started practicing of daily activities in the permanent bases as well as preparation of ships for combat sorties within the execution of the first course task K-1, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
More than 50 ships and supply vessels are involved in the execution of this task, including such missile ships as Tatarstan and Dagestan, small missile and artillery ships Grad Sviyazhsk, Uglich, Veliky Ustyug, Volgodonsk, Makhachkala, Astrakhan and others.
The crews will practice ship’s combat and cruise preparations, damage control trainings at the mooring when docked, air defence and counter sabotage actions in the permanent bases.
In the 2016 combat training, the crews will improve cooperation when about to sail. The seamen are to develop their skills in the navy elements execution and planned combat exercises both with a single ship and as a part of a ship detachment.
The main objectives of the Caspian Flotilla in the 2016 training year will be the international navy drill with the Russian Navy, Kazakh and Azerbaijani Naval Forces under the Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief; participation in the strategic command-and-staff “Caucuses-2016” exercise, in the “Navy Cup-2016” competition, which involves the CIS member states’ forces.
The qualifying tactical drills of naval groups with the missile and artillery fires against sea, coastal and aerial targets will be conducted.
