Icebreaker Murmansk completed second phase of sea trials
Diesel-electric icebreaker Murmansk (Project 21900 М) built at the facilities of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) for FSUE Rosmorport has completed the second phase of her sea trials Vladimir Shtrambrand, head of Rosmorport’s department on fleet construction and repair, told IAA PortNews at the IX International Forum "Transport of Russia". The ship has returned to the port of Helsinki (Finland).
Vladimir Shtrambrand says the icebreaker will be delivered to the customer in late December 2015.
The ship was designed by Baltsudoproekt bureau (Krylov State Research Center) and laid down at Vyborg Shipyard (USC) on December 26, 2012. The hull structures were then delivered to Arctech Helsinki Shipyard (fully owned by USC) for final assembling and fitting out.
