Counterterrorist exercise held in Northern Fleet garrisons
Today exercises against terrorist attacks on military facilities were held in the Northern Fleet garrisons, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
Servicemen practiced providing protection of strategically important objects, liberation of buildings occupied by terrorists, and location, encirclement and neutralization of illegal armed groupings within fleet garrison territories.
The exercise was held in close cooperation with territorial departments of the Federal Security Service, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Emergency Control, and other Russian protective services in the NF area of responsibility.
NF counterterrorist units are manned with trained Coast Guard servicemen, predominantly Marines.
Currently the NF is organizing a set of counterterrorist exercises. All servicemen participate to different extent. Special attention is paid to vigilant duty service by the daily on-duty troops and garrison forces.
