Vympel Shipyard launches sixth patrol boat of Mangust type (photo)
On October 26, 2015, Vympel Shipyard (Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region) launched the sixth fast patrol boat of Mangust type, Project 12150 (Hull No 02646), the shipyard’s press center says.
According to Oleg Belkov, Director General of Vympel Shipyard, the company will continue building Mangust type boats in 2016, though they will have improved livability and shape, different diesel engines and armament.
“The coming 5 years will see the construction of 5 – 10 Mangust type boats per year” he said.
Upon completion of mooring and sea trials and acceptance/delivery tests, the boat will leave for the site of service at Kaspijsk (Dagestan).
Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region based Vympel Shipyard is a fast-growing company specializing in building of medium-, small-tonnage sea-going and river vessels and boats both for military and civil sectors.
