RUB 1.5 bln to be allocated for reconstruction and upgrading of Sevmorzavod shipyard (Sevastopol) under Federal Targeted Programme in 2016
Sevastopol Marine Plant (Sevmorzavod JSC) being integrated into the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) will undergo reconstruction and equipment upgrade, press center of USC says.
On October 13, 2015 an agreement was signed on 49-year long leasing of major production facilities of Sevastopol Marine Plant named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze by the branch of Zvezdochka shipyard. Besides, a roadmap for integration of Sevmorzavod into USC was approved.
Allocations for reconstruction and upgrading of Sevmorzavod under Federal Targeted Programme are to make some RUB 7 bln 7 in 2016-2019 including RUB 1.5 bln in 2016.
The shipyard is supposed to build both civil vessels and warships.
Sevastopol Marine Plant JSC is one of the biggest shiprepair and newbuilding enterprises located in the regions of the Black Sea and of the Sea of Azov. The shipyard was founded in 1783 simultaneously with the city of Sevastopol. The shipyard’s territory includes two building sites. Two dry docks, slip-way, workshops of shiprepair, machine - building and electrical repair productions, building of plant management are located on the main site. Workshop and areas of hull - assembly production are located on the site "Inkerman".
Sevastopol based shiprepair yard earlier owned by Ukrainian President Peotr Poroshenko is a branch of Shiprepair Center Zvezdochka (part of United Shipbuilding Corporation) from September 2015.
