RF Transport Ministry, Russian Direct Investment Fund sign agreement for construction of Taman seaport
The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), the Russian Ministry of Transport and FSUE Rosmorport have signed a cooperation agreement for the construction and operation of the Taman seaport in the Krasnodar region, RDIF says. The agreement was signed on October 2, 2015 by Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of RDIF, Maxim Sokolov, the Minister of Transport, and Andrei Lavrishchev, the Executive Director of Rosmorport.
The main target for the project is to create a new dry cargo area at the Taman seaport with a maximum capacity of 100 million tons/year. It will provide a full range of high-quality port services for cargo handling. Strategically the new dry cargo project at the Taman seaport is important for Russia and it was included in the Russian 2030 Transport Strategy. It was partly funded by the state program "Transport System Development 2010-2020".
Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) was established in 2011 to make equity co-investments, primarily in Russia alongside reputable international financial and strategic investors. RDIF acts as a catalyst for direct investment in the Russian economy. Based in Moscow, RDIF’s management company is a 100% subsidiary of Vnesheconombank.
