German shipbuilders and suppliers of shipboard equipment to participate in NEVA 2015
The NEVA, an international exhibition held once in two years in between the SMM Hamburg fairs, is the greatest event dedicated to shipping and shipbuilding industry in the Eastern Europe and post-soviet area both in terms of the number of participants and the range of industry sectors represented there.
When preparing for the exhibition, German participants met certain troubles including the official rejection of state support announced in May 2015 and numerous organizational obstacles.
It was only with the support and initiative of VSM and VDMA cooperating with the NEVA International Organisers, Dolphin Exhibitions , that German Pavilion with 10 participants opens at the entrance to Hall 1 F, opposite the stand of the United Shipbuilding Corporation. Total number of the exhibiting firms is about 25, their products cover the full range of ship, shipbuilding, port equipment and marine facilities.
The companies participating in the Exhibition put a priority on long cooperation in many joint projects rather than on momentary political climate.
The list of participants now includes new companies that consider the Russian Federation as a reliable partner and companion. One of those companies is TECHNOLOG Services which has developed several designs for the Russian market in view of general development of global shipbuilding and shipping market. Among them are research ships for polar operations and fishing fleet, a design of a high-speed ferryboat and container carriers for the Northern Sea Route and rivers as well as an LNG powered boxship.
The stand will also represent two German shipyards: Elsflether Werft specializing in repair of large yachts and Bremerhaven based BREDO which regularly repairs Russian ships navigating in the adjacent areas. With their participation, the entire process of shipbuilding will be represented – from designing to construction.
The above companies are members of VSM - German Shipbuilding and Ocean Industries Association that from the very beginning has been supporting the idea of participation in the NEVA 2015 Exhibition in order to continue the decades-long dialogue and cooperation between the Russian Federation and Germany.
“There is nothing like civil maritime exhibition to promote further dialogue. We hope the NEVA 2017 will see an official German Pavilion,” VSM representative said.
German Pavilion participants will be glad to see you and will welcome their Russian partners.
