PortShuttle Rotterdam starts container exchange between the Maasvlakte and RSC Terminals
From 7 September PortShuttle Rotterdam B.V., part of the De Boom Groep, and rail operator Train Services B.V. will make a daily call at the terminals at Maasvlakte and the Rail Service Center Rotterdam in the Waal-Eemhaven area.
Currently, PortShuttle runs once a day, but the management does not rule out that this will be more frequent in the future. ‘We believe that we provide a good solution for the exchange of containers between the different deep sea terminals with this service,’ says Eric van Wijngaarden, CEO of De Boom Groep. ‘It makes it possible to combine freights, meaning trains can be loaded more efficiently and at less cost.’
Alongside the Rail Service Center Rotterdam, the RWG, APMT2 and the Euromax and Delta terminals of ECT PortShuttle can also call at the Kramer Delta Depot and CTT Rotterdam.
