Throughput of Klaipeda Seaport up 16.8% to 3.15 mln t in August’15
Pursuant to preliminary data as of the 1st of September the cargo handling turnover in Klaipeda Seaport in August of 2015 increased by 16,8 pct. or by 452,8 thou. tn to 3,15 mln tn comparing with August of 2014, the port’s press center says. The previous record was reached in 2012 when the aggregated throughput of the Seaport was 3,04 mln tn.
Year-on-year changes of the overall turnover in August of 2015 according to cargo types:
Liquid cargo – 855,2 thou. tn were handled, +48,6 pct. or +279,7 thou. tn yoy;
General cargo – 910,0 thou. tn were handled, -3,9 pct. or -36,9 thou. tn yoy;
Dry and bulk cargo – 1 385,3 thou. tn were handled, + 17,9 pct. or more + 210,0 thou. tn yoy.
Within the period of January – August of 2015 the cargo handling turnover in Klaipeda Seaport reached 25,37 mln tn, i.e., more by 9,0 pct. or by 2,1 mln tn comparing with January – August of 2014.
