General Electric to supply equipment for LNG plant under LNG-Gorskaya project
On August 31, 2015, Italy based Nuovo Pignone S.p.A. (GE Oil & Gas) and Russian company LNG-Gorskaya (implements the project on creation of LNG production complex in Saint-Petersburg) signed a contract on manufacture and supply of major equipment for Russia’s first floating LNG plant, says press center of LNG-Gorskaya LLC. Under the contract, GE Oil & Gas will manufacture one turbo-compressor unit, two expander-compressor units и and two boil-off gas compressors within 14 months.
LNG-Gorskaya LLC earlier signed a contract with the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) on building Russia’s first three LNG bunkering tankers.
LNG-Gorskaya LLC is involved in the project on creation of an LNG company with its own fleet to deliver LNG to European consumers and to bunker vessels in the water area of the Gulf of Finland.
The project implies the construction of a floating LNG plant with annual capacity of 1.97 bln cbm of LNG (in three phases), 9 bunkering tankers, pier, loading rack and gas pipeline, as well as the creation of several LNG terminals outside Russia: in Finland, Germany and Sweden.
LNG-Gorskaya LLC is going to put the complex into operation and to start selling LNG in the first half of 2017.
