Throughput of Ukraine’s seaports up 2.7% to 72.672 mln t in HI’15
In January-June 2015, seaports of Ukraine handled 72,672,000 t of cargo (+2.7%), says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
State stevedores under the Ministry of Infrastructure handled 25,663,000 t (36% of the total volume). Other port operators (mostly private operators) handled 46,009,000 t (64% of the total volume) including 24,116,000 t handled via USPA berths (34% of the total volume).
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 49,324,000 t (-2.8%), import – 9,505,000 (+37.3%), transit – 9,758,000 (-17.5%), coastal trade cargo – 3,085,000 (+998% against 2014).
Container throughput in seaports of Ukraine totaled 243,358 TEUs (70% of 2014 result).
The ports of mainland Ukraine have increased transshipment by 5.9%.
