Rosneft, RF Ministry of Transport and Krasnodar Territory Administration sign cooperation agreement on Taman Sea Port
Chairman of Rosneft Management Board Igor Sechin, the Minister of Transportation Maxim Sokolov and acting head of administration of Kasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratyev signed a cooperation agreement at the St.Petersburg International Economic Forum.
According to Rosneft, the parties agreed to join efforts for the project “Creation of Dry Cargo Zone in the Sea Port of Taman” under a dedicated nationwide government program “Russian Transportation Network Enhancement for 2010-2020.”
The agreement highlights the importance of creating infrastructure inside the port and by its premises, including federal owned facilities, which would allow for transshipment of petrochemical products with the calculated volume of 400,000 metric tons per year.
The partnership of Rosneft and Transportation Ministry has a long-term history. Through allied efforts the partners have increased oil transshipment volumes handled by the country’s ports, contributed to the development of port infrastructure, and secured high-quality aviation fuel to civil aviation of Russia by fine-tuning technology for jet fuel preparation and selling it via Rosneft’s refineries on direct purchasing terms. The achievements also encompass better security measures for oil shipment by sea, with emphasis on environmental safety first, along with improved efficiency and safety of icebreaking support for raw materials being moved from Russia’s Arctic regions.
