RF Government puts priority on machinery to develop shelf fields
To update the state programme Developing Shipbuilding for 2013-2030, with consideration for shipbuilding priorities, the title of the state programme has been changed by the signed directive to Developing Shipbuilding and Machinery to Develop Shelf Fields for 2015-2030. The instruction has been published at the website of RF Government today, on June 9, 2015.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, jointly with interested federal executive bodies and agencies, have developed a plan of efforts to reduce the Russian fuel and energy complex's dependence on imported equipment, components, foreign services and software, the explanatory note says.
The implementation of this plan revealed the considerable dependence of relevant agencies of national industry on foreign equipment and technology in developing oil and gas fields on the seabed. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, it is advisable to focus national producers’ efforts on designing and building ships and maritime facilities for operation under complex geophysical and hydrological conditions.
The adopted decision will help introduce new mechanisms to implement the state programme and will make it possible to change its priorities and focus efforts on developing machinery to develop shelf fields.
Relevant changes were introduced in the list of state programmes of the Russian Federation (approved by Government Directive No. 1950-r of 11 November 2010).
