Throughput of Russian seaports 4.4% to 268.4 mln t in Jan-May’15
In January-May 2015, Russian seaports handled 268.4 mln t of cargo (+4.4%, year-on-year), says the press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo has not changed against 5M’14 results - 113.9 mln t including 47.2 mln t of coal (+2.2%), 11.5 mln t of ferrous metal (+11.2%), 5.9 mln t of mineral fertilizers (+0.6%), 6.2 mln t of cargoes carried by ferries (up 1.8 times). Transshipment of containerized cargo fell to 16.5 mln t (-15.5%), grain – to 7.6 mln t (-11.1%), ore – to 2.3 mln t (-6.2%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 154.5 mln t (+7.9%) including 85.4 mln t of crude oil (+5.7%), 61.9 mln t of oil products (+12.1%) and 5.7 mln t of liquefied gas (+3.9%).
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 217.8 mln t (+6.3%, year-on-year), import cargo – 13.7 mln t (-23.1%), transit cargo – 19.8 mln t (-4.0%), coastal trade cargo – 17.1 mln t (+24.1%).
Operators of the Arctic Basin terminals handled 14.2 mln t (-0.6%) including 9.5 mln t of dry bulk cargo (-7.9%) and 4.7 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+18.3%). The port of Murmansk handled 8.8 mln t (-8.2%), Varandei - 2.7 mln t (+14.9%), Arkhangelsk - 1.8 mln t (+15.4%), Kandalaksha – 0.4 mln t (+22.0%).
The ports of the Baltic Basin handled 94.7 mln t (+3.0%) including 34.9 mln t of dry bulk cargo (-3.0%) and 59.8 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+6.8%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 35.6 mln t (+18.2%), Primorsk - 24.5 mln t (+1.8%), Vysotsk – 7.0 mln t (+0.3%), Big Port St. Petersburg - 21.7 mln t (-11.6%), Kaliningrad - 5.4 mln t (-3.5%).
Throughput of Azov - Black Sea ports climbed to 88.0 mln t (+8.5%) including 30.3 mln t of dry bulk cargo (+10.1%), 57.7 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+7.7%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 54.0 mln t (+4.8%), Tuapse - 10.7 mln t (+19.7%), Kavlkaz - 7.2 mln t (+9.4%), Temryuk - 1.2 mln t (up 1.7 times), Yeisk - 1.2 mln t (+0.2%), Taganrog - 1.1 mln t (+6.6%), Taman - 4.5 mln t (-3.2%), Rostov - 3.4 mln t (-5.6%), Azov - 1.8 mln t (-12.4%). The ports of Crimea handled 2.7 mln t of cargo.
The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 3.0 mln t of cargo (-4.7%) including 1.4 mln t of dry bulk cargo (+25.2%) and 1.6 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-20.8%). The port of Makhachkala handled 1.8 mln t (-19.6%) while its dry cargo transshipment remained at the level of the previous year. Throughput of port Astrakhan increased by 30.4%, Olya – by 20.3%.
The ports of Far East Basin handled 68.5 mln t (+2.8%) including 37.8 mln t of dry bulk cargo (-3.2%) and 30.7 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+11.3%). Port Vostochny handled 26.6 mln t (+15.6%), De-Castri –4.2 mln t (+24.7%), Kholmsk - 0.6 mln t (+4.4%), Vanino - 10.8 mln t (no changes), Nakhodka - 8.2 mln t (-5.5%), Prigorodnoye - 7.1 mln t (-1.0%), Vladivostok - 5.1 mln t (-20.0%), Posiet - 2.5 mln t (-20.8%).
Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
