Throughput of port Azov down 24.7% to 2,512,000 t in Jan-May’15
In January-May 2015, seaport of Azov handled 2,512,000 t of different cargo (-24.7%, year-on-year), the port Harbour Master Vladimir Bragin told IAA PortNews.
In the reported period, transshipment of grain fell by 17.5% to 1,225,000 t, oil products – by 40.3% to 845,000 t while coal transshipment surged by 52.8% to 249,000 t.
Exports fell by 30.5% to 1,319,000 t, imports – by 40% to 115,000 t, transit – 1.9 times to 650,000 t. Transshipment of coastal trade cargo totaled 428,000 t (no coastal trade cargo was handled in January-May 2014).
In January-May 2015, the port authorities registered 947 incoming and 969 outgoing vessels against 1325incoming and 1332 outgoing vessels a year ago.
Vladimir Bragin attributes the decrease to lower exports of grain and transit of oil products from inland water ways.
