Vladimir Nikitin appointed head of Krylov State Research Center
Vladimir Nikitin has been appointed the head of Krylov State Research Center (Saint-Petersburg) by the Order of RF Minister of Industry and Trade dated March 26, 2015 (No 24/k-r), the Ministry’s press center says. Vladimir Nikitin, former Director of Ship Repair Center ‘Zvezdochka’ (Severodvinsk), takes office from March 31, 2015.
Vladimir Nikitin was born on September 13, 1951 in the Volgograd Region; in 1974 he graduated from Volgograd Polytechnic Institute with specialization in machine engineering of mechanical units of automated facilities; he worked at Ship Repair Center ‘Zvezdochka’ from 1974 to 1998. From 1998 up to the appointment as Zvezdochka Director, Vladimir Nikitin was the Director General of FSUE Research and Design Technological Bureau ‘Onega’.
Krylov State Research Center was set up in 1894 as Russia’s first model testing basin in the central part of St. Petersburg. It is a scientific research organization of the national shipbuilding sector focused on conceptual and workshop designs of naval ships, merchant vessels and offshore structures as well as on their operation and disposal.
