Port of Azov received 810 ships in the 2014-2015 ice navigation season (photo)
The Harbourmaster's office of the Port of Azov recorded 390 arrivals and 420 departures during the ice navigation season of 2014-2015, the regional IAA PortNews correspondent reports quoting a port official.
Victor Zavozin, first deputy to Azov port's harbourmaster was reporting to the public meeting of Basin Commission on the organization of icebreaking assistance at Russian ports and on access channels of the Azov Sea during the 2014-2015 winter navigation season.
The deputy captain of Azov port said the arrivals number included 343 ships that entered the port of Azov through the Azov-Don Sea Canal and 47 vessels from the port of Rostov-on-Don. Departures included 394 vessels that left Azov through the ADSC and 26 ships were bound for Rostov-on-Don.
The official start of ice navigation season at the port of Azov was at 12:00, November 27, 2014, according to the Port of Azov Harbourmaster's order. The period of icebreaking support to vessels was completed at 12:00 , March 4 2015 due to favorable weather and ice conditions at the seaport of Azov and on its access channels.
