Throughput of Vostochny Port OJSC up 10.4% to 3.4 mln t of coal in Jan-Feb’15
In January-February 2015, Vostochny Port OJSC handled 3,424,930 t of coal (+10.4%, year-on-year), the company’s press center says.
The Specialized Coal Terminal handled 2,692,180 (+8.7%) including 1,317,950 t of coal handled in February (+19.2%).
The Universal Handling Terminal climbed by 16.9% to 732,750 t in Jan-Feb’15.
“Today we stay ahead of the 2014 results, record high for our company when over the 12 months of 2014 our transshipment complexes handled 21,840,000 t of coal. It is possible thanks to further modernization supervised by Vostochny Port OJSC and Managing Port Company LLC,” says Anatoly Lazarev, Managing Director of Vostochny Port OJSC.
JSC Vostochny Port is the major stevedoring company of Russia specializing in coal transshipment. As of today, export coal (mainly coal mined in Kuzbass) accounts for 98.5% of the company’s turnover with 1.5% of the coastal trade coal and 0.01% of other cargoes. The company’s assets include a Specialized Coal Terminal with conveyer equipment system and railcar unloading station and a Universal Handling Terminal which specializes in clamshell coal handling. The Terminals’ annual capacities are 14.2 mln tonnes and 3 mln tonnes respectively.
In 2012, Vostochny Port commenced the construction of the Third phase of the Coal Terminal.
Managing Port Company LLC is the sole executive body of Vostochny Port OJSC.
In 2014, Vostochny Port OJSC handled 21.84 mln t of coal, a record high result in the Russian Federation.
