RAS and FASO back up establishment of Arctic research center in Arkhangelsk
Presidium of Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and Federal Agency of Scientific Organizations (FASO) have backed up the idea of establishing a federal academic center for Arctic research in Archangelsk, press center of Arkhangelsk region government says.
According to Archangelsk Governor Igor Orlov, the center should be established with a focus on specific tasks in the sphere of unmanned equipment, shipbuilding, space and geophysical research, production and processing of natural resources.
The memorandum on creation of Arctic research center was signed on October 23 by the heads of leading universities, academic institutions, national parks and industrial enterprises located in the Archangelsk.
