Port Kolomna OJSC puts into operation multipurpose floating crane (photo)
On November 19, 2014, multipurpose floating crane was put into operation by Port Kolomna OJSC, the company’s press center says.
The crane manufactured at in-house shipbuilding facilities is based on Liebherr crane and is called The Kolomenets.
The crane’s output is 30,000 t per day which allows for replacement of 4 standard 16-tonne cranes. The new crane will be primarily used for the Company’s logistic complex “Besedy” near the Moscow Ring Road to speed up transshipment operations. The crane was floated out on August 25.
Its length is 60 m, width – 21.5 m, main engine capacity - 800 kW, cargo capacity with boom radius of 32 m in grab mode - 35 t, in hook mode - 45 t. Investments into construction exceeded RUB 200 mln.
Port Kolomna OJSC is a multiprofile river transport enterprise which history goes back to 1858. It was incorporated in 1994. The port comprises cargo districts at Moskva and Oka rivers, passenger transportation facility, ship repair plant, vessel lifting facility and other facilities.
The company excavates aggregates, carries out handling and shipping operations, provides commuter services, performs technical modernization and introduction of new facilities, repairs and builds new vessels.
The company’s fleet comprises over 100 vessels: tugboats, self-propelled vessels of Oka type, suction dredgers, floating cranes and passenger vessels of Moskva type.
