North-Western Shipping Company carried 333,000 t of timber in navigation-2014 (photo)
In navigation-2014 (April 30 - November 17) the vessels of OJSC North-Western Shipping Company carried 333,000 t of timber which is similar to the result of the previous navigation, press center of North-Western Shipping Company says.
The volume of multimodal transportation between river ports of the North West region of Russia and seaports of Russia and Europe has increased by 20% to 240,000 t, mostly roundwood and sawn timber. Marine transportation of sawn timber between European ports totaled 93,000 t.
The following ships were involved in timber transportation: Neva-Leader, Rusich, Sibirsky, Omsky.
In navigation-2015 the shipping company is going to increase timber supplies from the Volga-Baltic ports to the ports of Scandinavia and Western Europe by Neva-Leader ships and other vessels of sea and river navigation.
North-Western Shipping Company is the largest carrier in Russia’s water transport system, specializing in shipping import / export general cargo, bulk and loose dry cargo, tugging of oversized cargo and vessels. The company operates 55 sea-and-river-going cargo ships, 10 sea-going vessels and 3 ro-ro barges with total deadweight of 300,000 tonnes.
