On Monday, the “Bravery Award” of United Nations’ International Maritime Organization (IMO) was presented to the Danish Captain Andreas Kristensen, who received the award on behalf of the entire crew from the DFDS ship BRITANNIA SEAWAYS. They received the award for the courage that they together had displayed when a violent fire erupted on board the ship as it was en route along the Norwegian coast. The actions taken by the crew meant that none of the 32 persons on board were injured and prevented pollution of the marine environment.
