CIMC Raffles completes 60% of world first 7th generation ultra-deepwater semisubmersible drilling rig
CIMC Raffles built the world’s only two ultra-deepwater semisubmersible drilling rigs in Haiyang Shipyard. It is reported that 60% of its first rig was completed, CIMC RAFFLES said in its press release.
The rig adopts D90 design. It is regarded as the deepest semisubmersible drilling rig in working and drilling depth (3,658 meters and 15,250 meters). Equipped with a dual RamRig and DP3 dynamic positioning system, it can adapt to 95% of the operating sea except for the Norwegian North Sea.
