Port of Tuapse handled more rail cars in October year-on-year
Tuapse Commercial Seaport in October 2014 increased the average daily rate of unloading trains, up to 309 rail cars, or 76 units more year-on-year, the port operator said.
The October results show a growth trend in cargo offloading at the Port of Tuapse. In August 2014 the average daily discharge of freight cars totaled 219 units and increased in September to 249 cars, in October to 309 units per day. Several times the daily rate of unloading exceeded the capacity of the port, reaching 402 cars a day at a rate of 345.
This became possible through the joint efforts of specialists of Tuapse port and the North Caucasus Railway to enhance control over the Tuapse railway station operations, to improve delivery of export cargo, etc. to fully utilize the port's throughput capacity.
