USC plans opening of its representative office in Crimea by year end
United Shipbuilding Corporation OJSC is going to open a representative office in Crimea by the end of 2014, IAA PortNews reporter cites USC President Aleksei Rakhmanov, as telling journalists at the ceremonial delivery of submarine Novorossiysk to RF Navy held in Saint-Petersburg today.
According to him, the issue will be submitted for consideration of the USC Board of Directors within 2-3 months.
He also said there are orders for Crimean shipyards but adequate infrastructure is to be created for their implementation.
United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC OJSC) is the largest shipbuilding company in Russia. It was set up in 2007 with 100% federal ownership. The holding comprises 60 companies and organizations (major shipbuilding and shiprepairing companies as well as leading design bureaus). Currently, USC consolidates about 80% of the domestic shipbuilding complex. The Russian market is the main focus of the state corporation though it also exports its products to 20 countries worldwide.
