Throughput of Murmansk Commercial Seaport down 1.2% to 9.76 mln t in Jan-July’14
In January-July 2014, Murmansk Commercial Seaport OJSC handled 9,762,900 t of cargo (-1.2%, year-on-year), the company’s statistics says.
Coal transshipment totaled 8,243,900 t.
In the 7-month period, the port handled 234 vessels (including 118 vessels with coal) and 138,349 wagons (including 116,535 wagons with coal).
Consolidated throughput of three stevedoring companies operating in Murmansk seaport (including Murmansk Bulk Terminal LLC and Agrosfera CJSC) totaled 11,778,000 t (+ 3.5%, year-on-year).
Murmansk Commercial Seaport OJSC was established in 1994 on base of the public enterprise and nowadays it is one of Russia’s busiest ports. The port has 17 berths with total length of some 3,000 meters. The length and depth enables the port to handle vessels of up to 15.5 meters in draught and over 265 meters in length. In 2012, the company handled 17.13 mln t of cargo.
