Kleven ORN enters into a long-term contract with Kongsberg Maritime
Kleven ORN has entered into a long-term contract with Kongsberg Maritime's branch in Brazil involving production and testing of equipment. The equipment will be part of Kongsberg Maritime's system deliveries to the Brazilian market, the company said in its press release.
- This is a breakthrough for Kleven ORN, says Trond Liavaag, managing director at Kleven Maritime Technology. Kleven ORN has performed service for electro- and electronics equipment on offshore vessels operating outside of Brazil since its start-up in 2012. The deal with Kongsberg involves expanding the activity from service-only, to also include production. The first orders include delivery of equipment to several drillships and drilling rigs currently under construction in Brazil.
- Kongsberg is a very interesting partner because of their global presence. This contract will be a very important reference for Kleven ORN, and shows that cooperation and good relations in the home market also give strength internationally, Liavaag says.
Kleven ORN has about 20 employees, and is situated at Niteroi, outside of Rio, Brazil. The company is a joint venture between Kleven Maritime Technology (a cooperation between Kleven and Hareid Group) and the Brazilian service company Offshore Reparos Navais.
