Shipyard BARRERAS lays keel of flotel ship for Pemex Exploration and Production
Vigo, Spain based Hijos de J. Barreras shipyard held a keel laying for a flotel ship for Pemex Exploration and Production. The ceremony was attended by the CEO of The vessel, to be delivered in July 2016, measured 131 meters in length and 27 meters wide, and will accommodate 700 people.
The event was held at the , which , through its subsidiary PMI Comercio Internacional, maintains control since December 2013, when it acquired the majority of shares. Thus, you can transfer technology and knowledge to Mexican naval sector.

In February the shipyard held first steel-cutting for the accommodation vessel and have since performed the engineering design, preparation of steel for the hull fitting and equipment procurement.
The accommodation vessel design includes the installation of two cranes, each with a lifting capacity of 15 tonnes, hoisting height of 20 meters. The vessel will be equipped with a helipad and a telescopic walkway for the transfer of personnel to the oil rig. It also will feature cabins, offices, locker rooms, workshops, conference room, meeting room, nursing, medical office and kitchen.
Barriers president, José García Costas, said that this event confirms that the yard is kept in full swing. Among the projects is the construction of a tuna boat Processes for Mexican company, which will work on the Pacific coast of Mexico and other offshore vessels, as a vessel for Diavaz setter and passenger vessels.
