Atomflot plans reconstruction of nuclear icebreaker Sovetsky Soyuz by October revolution centenary
FSUE Atomflot plans to reconstruct nuclear icebreaker Soviet Union by November 7, 2017, the centenary of October revolution.
As Atomflot Director General Vyacheslav Ruksha told in his interview to IAA PortNews, after 2020 the Arctic will see operation of 50 Let Pobedy, Sovetsky Soyuz, Yamal and three new icebreakers of LK-60 class. “I remind that those are double-draught icebreakers. Probably, in 2020 a decision will be taken to build the forth, the fifth and the sixth icebreakers of LK-60 type, and an icebreaker-leader, perhaps,” the head of Atomflot says.
The entire interview will be published in a new edition of “Port Service. Bunkering Market” journal which is to be issued in August 2014. The journal can be ordered at the office of IAA PortNews >>>>.
