Accommodation unit's topsides for Filanovsky field being towed to the Caspian Sea
Topside module of an accommodation unit intended for installation at the Vladimir Filanovsky field in the Northern Caspian Sea on July 30 departed from the port of Astrakhan, the Authority of the Caspian Basin Seaports.
The accommodation unit topside module on board of the heavy-lift transport & installation barge (TIB) Yuri Kuvykin is being towed by several tugboats.
Topside modules of all four platforms and catwalk bridges are expected to be installed during the current summer at the Filanovsky field. Production is scheduled for late 2015 or early 2016.
The oil and gas field named after Vladimir Filanovsky was discovered in 2005 in the Northern part of the Caspian Sea, 220 km off Astrakhan. The sea depth at the site reaches 7 to 11 meters. The field estimated reserves reach 220 million tonnes and 40 billion cbm of gas. Projected oil production is to reach 8 million tonnes.
