SMM manufactured three gantry cranes for Saint-Petersburg shipyards (photo)
SMM CJSC has manufactured three gantry cranes for Saint-Petersburg shipyards. According to the company’s press center, the cranes are being assembled at the territory of Admiralty Shipyards OJSC and Baltiysky Zavod-Sudostroyeniye LLC.
The cranes with boom reach of 66 m, maximum cargo capacity of 100 t at 45-meter radius and height of lift of 50 m are unique for domestic crane production industry. Cranes with such characteristics were earlier supplied to Russian shipyards by German and Finnish manufacturers.
Competitive advantages of the cranes are primarily in improved stiffness of metal structures of the gantry and higher operation reliability of junctions and mechanisms as compared with those of their foreign counterparts.
