VW wants to wield influence in MAN-Scania -source
Volkswagen wants to retain significant influence on Swedish truckmaker Scania in a potential merger with German rival MAN, an industry source familiar with the situation said on Wednesday, Reuters reports.
"For Volkswagen it's a matter of securing its current influence at Scania in a merged company," the person said.
Volkswagen, which controls 34 percent of Scania voting rights, rejected MAN's present offer as not reflecting its industrial interests.
