Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority to improve environment safety system
Specialists of the Environmental Safety Department of the SE «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority» are conducting project work on checkup of seaports, says USPA press center. As of mid-November, 12 seaport authorities were inspected; more than 55 prescriptions for identified deficiencies were issued.
This week USPA inspected the ports of Yevpatoriia, Yalta and Sevastopol.
Given the proximity of ports’ infrastructure to the tourist coast of the Crimean peninsula, during the checkups the special attention were paid at the organization of work for the elimination of possible oil spillage, storage a and safe waste management, monitoring of the natural environment in the area of seaport operation, etc.
In the statements adopted to fulfill by the heads of seaports were outlined specific measures and deadlines for the effective work of USPA on environmental safety.
