Jack-up drilling rig Neptune enters Caspian Sea (photo)
Towing train with large-sized facility – jack-up drilling rig Neptune – passed from the port of Astrakhan to the Caspian Sea on November 4 – 11, 2013, says press center of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency.
The assembly of the jack-up drilling of project S116E took place at the site of Astrakhan Shipbuilding Production Association.
The jack-up drilling rig was built by Lamprell Energy in 2011 in UAE to the order of BKE Shelf Ltd. The Neptune is to be operated in the Caspian Sea at the depth ranging between 4.8 - 105 meters. The living quarters of the Neptune is to accommodate the crew of 105 persons.
