Throughput of Russian seaports up 3.7% to 488.7 mln t in Jan-Oct’13
In January-October, Russian seaports handled 488.7 mln t of cargo (+3.7%, year-on-year), says press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
In the accounting period, transshipment of dry cargo remained flat at 211.4 mln t including 84.8 mln t of coal (+14.9%), 36.9 mln t of containerized cargo (+4.0%), 10.6 mln t of mineral fertilizers (+19.5%), 6.3 mln t of ore (+3.7%). Transshipment of ferrous metal dropped to 18.3 mln t (-17.5%), grain – to 13.4 mln t (-37.2%), timber – to 3.7 mln t (-27.5%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo hit 277.3 mln t (+6.6%) including 173.0 mln t of crude (+5.3%).
Transshipment of export cargo reached 381.7 mln t (+2.5%), import – 38.5 mln t (+3.0%), transit – 38.8 mln t (+9.1%), coastal trade cargo – 29.7 mln t (+14.5%).
Operators of the Arctic Basin handled 38.8 mln t (+23.1%) including 20.7 mln t of dry cargo (+2.3%) and 18.1 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (up 1.6 times). The growth of liquid bulk transshipment was driven by the increase of Belokamenka terminal throughput. Total throughput of port Murmansk hit 25.8 mln t (+35.8%), port Varandey – 4.5 mln t (up 1.9 times). Throughput of port Arkhangelsk declined to 3.8 mln t (-13.9%), port Vitino – to 2.3 mln t (-27.0%).
The ports of the Baltic Basin handled 179.7 mln t of cargo (+3.9%) including 68.1 mln t of dry cargo (+7.8%) and 111.6 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+1.6%). Throughput of port Ust-Luga climbed to 51.8 mln t (+36.9%), Vysotsk – to 13.5 mln t (+24.0%), Kaliningrad – to 11.3 mln t (+8.7%). At the same time, port Primorsk decreased transshipment to 53.7 mln t (-15.5%), Big Port St. Petersburg – to 48.2 mln t (-2.0%).
Throughput of Azov - Black Sea ports fell by 2.8%, year-on-year, to 143.4 mln t including 50.4 mln t of dry cargo (-14.0%) and 93.0 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+4.6%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 93.7 mln t (-4.6%), Tuapse - 14.4 mln t (-3.3%), Rostov-on-Don - 8.9 mln t (-6.1%), Kavkaz - 6.5 mln t (-15.3%).
The ports of the Caspian Basin saw a 24.8-pct decrease of throughput to 6.6 mln t including 2.6 mln t of dry cargo (-38.2%) and 4.0 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-12.9%). Throughput of port Makhachkala fell by 17.4%, Astrakhan - by 28.7%, Olya - 2.9 times.
Seaports of the Far East Basin handled 120.2 mln t of cargo (+8.7%) including 69.7 mln t of dry cargo (+6.9%), 50.5 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+11.3%). Port Vostochny handled 40.3 mln t (+16.5%), Vanino - 19.8 mln t (+19.2%), Nakhodka - 15.3 mln t (+8.0%), Vladivostok - 12.1 mln t (+9.5%), Prigorodnoye - 13.2 mln t (-2.1%), De-Castri - 5.7 mln t (-6.9%), Posiet - 4.7 mln t (–5.5%).
Association of Sea Commercial Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport.
