St. Petersburg’s passenger port welcomes maiden call of Ocean Majesty (photo release)
The cruise ship Ocean Majesty, time-chartered by German cruise company Hansa Touristik Kreuzfahrten on Monday, July 29 docked for the first time at the terminal of JSC Passenger Port of St. Petersburg "Marine Façade”, the passenger port said in a press release.
The cruise ship came from Tallinn with about 600 German tourists on board. Upon completion of the Baltic cruise the ship will set sail to the Norwegian fjords.
The cruise vessel was built in 1966 at Union Naval de Levante in Valencia, Spain. In 1989 the ship was acquired by Greek Majestic International.
JSC Passenger Port St. Petersburg "Marine Façade" is 100%-owned by St. Petersburg government and is the largest marine passenger port in Russia. Construction of Marine Façade began in 2006. Currently, the passenger terminal can accommodate cruise and ferry ships of 311 meters in length and a draft of up to 9 meters. The length and depth of new access channels is 10 km and 11 meters. The port operates seven piers. The quay wall length is 2171.06 m.
