Rosterminalugol terminal's seven-month coal throughput totals 12.4m tonnes
Year-to-date coal shipments through the Ust-Luga-based Rosterminalugol terminal have totaled 8 million tonnes, the operator said on Monday.
The 8-millionth tonne was loaded onto the AP Argosy on July 26. The same coal exports volume was handled at Rosterminalugol on August 6, 2012.
JSC Rosterminalugol was established in 1996 to build and operate the coal terminal at Port of Ust-Luga. The terminal’s projected annual coal throughput is 8 million tons. The Company specializes in loading / unloading operations, freight forwarding services, building and maintenance of facilities at the coal terminal. The company also provides insurance services for cargoes and property, the risks of transactions at Ust-Luga port. The terminal has two berths of total length of 540 meters and depth of 14 meters. The terminal is able to accommodate 240-m-long, 32.2-m-wide vessels. In 2012, coal exports via the terminal surged 26% year-over-year to 13.76 million tonnes.
