ADP Group plans to transship 500,000 mt of grain in Jul-Oct offshore Kavkaz port
Azov-Don Shipping Company (ADP Group) has planned to load onto ships 500,000 metric tons of grain at an offshore transshipment location of the Port of Kavkaz, the shipping company said.
Earlier, an ADC’s logistics division signed contracts for integrated services for the transportation and handling of 500,000 tonnes of grain cargo between July and October 2013. The cargo will be handled at the harbor of Kavkaz port by the Group’s member Universal Stevedoring Company.
The first shipment of grain for Solaris Commodities SA has already been performed. Bulk carrier Sigrun Bolten with 25,800 metric tons of wheat left Kavkaz and set sail to the ports of Durban (South Africa) and Toamasina (formerly Tamatave, Madagascar).
The logistics division deputy director Igor Kasyanov says the integrated service includes shipping of the cargo by Azov-Don Shipping Company’s river vessels from the ports of the Volga, the Don and the Azov Sea to offshore location at the Port of Kavkaz and transshipment of the grain cargo from river ships onto Handysize and Panamax dry cargo carriers.
Transportation group Azov-Don Shipping was established in 2003. The holding comprises more than 20 shipping companies, including shipping, stevedoring, logistics divisions and real estate developers. The ADP Group owns and operates a fleet of 73 river and sea-going vessels of 7,000DWT and 100 river vessels of 3,000DWT.
