Severnaya Verf set to hand over 3 newbuilds to Russian Navy in 2014
JSC Severnaya Verf Shipyard plans to deliver three ships to the Russian Navy in 2014, the shipbuilding firm head said Thursday at the Provorny corvette keel-laying ceremony.
The shipbuilding company’s General Director Alexander Ushakov said the newbuildings include the Admiral Gorshkov, the corvette Stoikiy and the communications ship Yuri Ivanov.
From next year, the shipbuilder will be delivering an average of three new ships a year to the Russian Navy. In 2013, Severnaya Verf handed over Boiky. On September 26, 2013 it plans to hold a launching of the communications ship Yuri Ivanov.
As of today, the Severnaya Verf Shipyard has an order book with completion and deliveries stretching till 2020, the Russian deputy defense minister Yuri Borisov said.
