Primorsk Territory authorities and SBU sign agreement on construction of new port in Sukhodol Bay
Administration of Primorsk Territory and Joint Stock Holding Company Siberian Business Union (SBU) have signed an agreement on cooperation in implementation of a project on construction of a new marine coal terminal with the capacity of 20 mln tonnes in Shkotovsky district, Sukhodol Bay, says pc of the territory administration.
The construction is said to commence in 2014. The project will let generate 700 jobs. SBU plans to build a 100-appartment block for the port personnel in Romanovka village.
According to Vladimir Miklushevsky, Primorsk Territory Governor, the project will provide small and mid-size coal producers with easier access to port infrastructure.
“Transport & logistic industry is one of the priorities in Primorsk Territory so we are going to support this project implementation. Such large-scale projects serve as a perfect “anchor” for the development of small and medium businesses in the region,” the Governor said.
Victor Mikhailov, Head of Shkotovsky district, noted that implementation of the project on plant construction became possible with the transfer of 753 hectares of Defense Ministry’s lands to municipality.
