RF border checkpoint for yachts and small-size vessels opened in Kronshtadt
RF border for small-size leisure and sport sail vessels opened in Kronshtadt at the territory of fort Konstantin on July 17, 2013. According to the press center of St. Petersburg Governor’s Administration, the project investor Tretij Park OJSC arranged the infrastructure of the checkpoint and handed it over to Rosgranitsa for free use.
Saint-Petersburg Governor Georgiy Poltavchenko emphasized that it is the only checkpoint in Russia for small-size vessels. With its introduction the document clearance reduced to 30 minutes. Up to 15 vessels can simultaneously pass the border and customs control here.
In fact, the checkpoint operated for 2 months already. Over this period over 300 vessels passed it. In July the checkpoint is expected to service over 200 vessels. In the future the tourist flow is to multiply.
“The launch of the checkpoint will let us attract to St. Petersburg more tourists including yachtsmen,” Poltavchenko said.
