Intermodal Europe exhibit and conference to focus on best practices and products in transport sector
Intermodal Europe 2013 will be held in Germany at the Hamburg Messe, October 8-10. The event will bring together container transport and logistics professionals to see new products and attend conference sessions on current topics in the industry, Informa Exhibition, the event organizer said in a press release.
Intermodal Europe is a leading global exhibition and conference for container transport and logistics across the road, rail and sea sectors and is considered to be the leading event in the container shipping calendar.
Along with the exhibition, some conference sessions will be held in the framework of Intermodal Europe. Conference speakers will share their industry knowledge and experience in container and intermodal industry.
Besides, the TIGER DEMO project will be presented at a conference session, introducing international experience in transport sector. TIGER DEMO is an EU Commission co-funded Project under the 7th Framework Program as the continuation of the TIGER Project. TIGER DEMO stands for 'Trans-Rail Integrated Goods European-Express Routes Demonstrators'.
The TIGER Project was developed by considering four basic European transport constraints. An increase to freight mobility demand versus constrained infrastructure; ports de-congestion for managing an increasing volume of traffic; sustainable mobility supporting the environmental situation and climate change; better utilisation of the available European structures to avoid costs and construction timings dictated by infrastructure expansion.
Some intermodal transport specialists (like CakeBoxx or Xmetra) will share their experience in innovative containers and introduce environment-focused solutions for shipping hazardous materials for the prevention of leakages during the multimodal transportation.
Intermodal Europe, now an Informa event, was established in 1976 and brings together container transport and logistics professionals from all over the world. Informa has also recently announced a new event, Intermodal Asia, which will take place in Shanghai in April 2014.
