Container Terminal Ilyichevsk (Ukraine) handles first ZIM container carrier from May’11 (photo)
On July 11, Container Terminal Ilyichevsk (Ukraine) handled M/V Novorossiysk Star. It is the first call of ZIM container carrier to Ilyichevsk after May 2011, says press center of National Container Company (NCC).
The terminal unloaded 107 TEUs and loaded 42 TEUs.
Novorossiysk Star is deployed for BSX service with the following rotation: Haifa – Limassol – Constanta – Varna – Kumport - Izmit–Gemlik -Thessaloniki – Izmit –Piraeus – Limassol – Haifa. Ilyichevsk is included for the first time.
ZIM containers are also delivered to Ilyichevsk by the vessels of PIL, CSCL, YML and WHL within the framework of a joint service Asia Black Sea Express Service (ABX).

Private company Container Terminal Ilyichevsk (CTI) is a container terminal in the port of Ilyichevsk (Ukraine), part of NCC Group. CTI is the first stevedore in the history of contemporary shipping in Ukraine to introduce and successfully implement a system of fixed berthing windows. The terminal handles both ocean going and feeder vessels of MAERSK, MSC, CMA CGM, CSCL, YangMing, PIL, KLine, WAN HAI.
The terminal’s major parameters: quay length – 656 m, depth alongside berth – up to 13.5 m, yard storage capacity – 17,100 TEUs, reefer storage capacity – over 600 plugs, throughput capacity – 850,000 TEUs/year.
