Within six months of 2013 the turnover of Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg OJSC (SP SPb) amounted to 3.96 mln. tonnes, which is by 12% less than the same indicator of the previous year, the company states.
Such decrease was caused by reduction of handling volumes of the main cargo of the port-ferrous metals due to decrease of the demand at the European and USA markets.
In particular, in comparison with January-June of the last year handling volumes of ferrous metals decreased by 27% up to 1.36 mln. tonnes, non-ferrous metals decreased by 4%, up to 967 thousand tonnes.
